Portland Society for Calligraphy Art Exhibit
Please visit their FREE Art Exhibit — available 24/7 — from Sunday, May 21 through Sunday, June 25, 2017 located at the South Side of the Portland Justice Center on Madison (between Third and Second) — this display can easily be viewed from the sidewalk.
Founded by Lloyd Reynolds and a group of his students in 1969, the Portland Society for Calligraphy was originally known as the Western American Branch of the Society for Italic Handwriting, and is one of the oldest calligraphy guilds in the United States.
Lloyd Reynolds’ vision was: “Through study, understanding, and critical practice, let us promote this healthy arts and crafts movement.” The Portland Society for Calligraphy holds the following as its Core Values: Education, Inclusivity, Creativity, Integrity of Craft, Humility, Encouragement, Curiosity & Joy. They offer an extensive workshop program aimed at all levels of skill.
