How to Participate
Community entries may show up on parade day and participate, but we encourage you to register. Dance/Drill/Baton groups should register by April 15, 2008, and will receive separate instructions. Marching Bands are selected in the fall.
Community entries should report by noon to formation area in the place assigned to your entry type. The formation area is the eight square blocks between NE Sacramento and NE 57th and NE Tillamook and NE 53rd. The area will be marked with signs for entry types. If you are unsure where to line up, go to the information booth at NE 52nd and Sandy Blvd.

Three Ways to Participate!
- Build a FLOAT. It’s not as hard as you think! Learn how to build a hand-towed float at our Float Workshop, which will include demonstrations on the basics and lots of decoration ideas. Build a Junior Parade Float
- Ride your WHEELS. Decorate your bike, trike, wagon, wheelchair or stroller. Skates, skateboards and unicycles welcome too! We encourage using fresh or silk flowers in your décor, but you can also use crepe paper, ribbons and bows, fabric, or anything else your imagination suggests (how about colored saran wrap, colorful plastic sheeting, or even aluminum foil)!
- MARCH in time. Groups and individuals are welcome to walk in the parade. Dress in costume or uniform! Pets are welcome, but please use leashes and plan ahead to provide water and clean up after your pet.
Awards will be given to exceptional entries in the floats and wheels categories. In addition, our judges will be looking for outstanding costumes and fantastic international entries! Winners will be listed on our website.
