All The World is a Rose Festival Stage as the Festival Seeks Culturally Diverse Performers
Celebrating culture, diversity and ethnicity, amateur performance artists are being sought for open volunteer slots on the Portland Rose Festival’s Waterfront Village World Rhythms Stage and in the KeyBank Grand Floral Parade. Opportunities to perform all types of unique or eclectic routines are available for both children’s and adult groups daily between 11:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. at the Waterfront Village. The KeyBank Grand Floral Parade welcomes all students and people of diversity to showcase their ethnic and vintage costuming for a place inside two parade segments.
Waterfront Village World Rhythm Stage
Cultural groups performing on the World Rhythms stage highlight Portland’s diverse ethnic heritages and important cultural traditions. Past dance performers include dancers showcasing Irish, German, Latvian, Cambodian, Chinese, Indian, Thai, Vietnamese, and Hawaiian-style dancing. Music groups have played folk, bluegrass, Cajun, African, Caribbean and other genres. In addition to cultural music groups and dance troupes, we welcome storytellers, theater groups, amateur jugglers, magicians, comedians, clowns and cheerleading groups to apply.

Keybank Grand Floral Parade
Two main segments of the 2009 KeyBank Grand Floral Parade to feature Portland’s well-known international diversity:
Segment One: Small World ~ Bridging Continents
We invite international students, exchange students, international club members and their parents to showcase their culture. Any youth with cultural dress, flags, textiles, etc. would greatly compliment this segment of the Grand Floral Parade
Segment Two: Our Oregon ~ Bridging Centuries
We invite students and their parents with access to vintage costumes representing the last 150 years of Oregon’s history to participate in this segment of the Grand Floral Parade. We extend this invitation especially to theater students, the drama club, Model UN and history club members.
