Bouquet of Events Tops Off the Rose Festival Season

The Portland Rose Festival goes regional for its final summer-time fling with cultural music, food, bike racing and entertainment stretching from Salem, Oregon to Vancouver, Washington. Multi-cultural entertainment and tasty food highlight this weekend with the World Beat Festival in Salem and the Good in the Neighborhood Festival in Northeast Portland, and Vancouver's Recycled Arts Festival feeds the imagination by showing how to turn unwanted items into art.
The Royal Rosarians 73rd Annual Rose Garden Contest announces this year's winners in a ceremony at Washington Park International Test Garden, Tuesday, June 28 at 6:30 p.m. and summer festival time comes full circle next weekend with the Swan Island Rose Festival Criterium taking to the streets in the north Portland industrial neighborhood Saturday, July 2.
Fund raising events will wrap up the festival season this fall with the annual Rose Festival Golf Tournament, "Heroism is Par for the Course," (supporting the David Campbell Memorial Fund and the Portland Rose Festival Foundation) on Friday, September 30 -- and the Roses on Broadway Dinner & Auction at the Hilton Portland Grand Ballroom on Friday, October 14. Registration is open and tickets are available for both events.
