The siren sounds at 7:30 a.m. (on Friday, August 3) to signal the shotgun start of the Portland Rose Festival Foundation's annual Golf Tournament, at the Stone Creek Golf Club in Oregon City. Funds raised at this fun and friendly competition benefit both the Portland Rose Festival Foundation and the David Campbell Memorial Association (which honors Portland's fallen firefighters).
To get golfers in the mood to give, each participant will walk in a firefighter's shoes -- literally! On hole #1, each tee shot will be taken in firefighter turnouts (those big fireproof pants, boots and suspenders) and fire helmets -- a truly unique experience!
On-course contests include closest to the pin, longest drive, and a shot at a $10,000 hole-in-one cash prize. New this year is a $50 voucher per golfer to spend in the adidas mobile golf store, featuring Taylor Made and adidas products at deeply discounted prices (nearly wholesale!). Hosted snacks and beverages are provided throughout the day, concluding with delicious barbecue at the awards luncheon.
