Come Out For the Biggest Day of the Year on Saturday, June 6!
CityFair is OPEN for FUN Thursday through Sunday
Sunday and Monday Activities Continue the Rose Festival Excitement!
This year the Rose Festival salutes Women in Leadership by honoring the two women who have served in the State of Oregon’s top elected role, Governors Barbara Roberts and Kate Brown as Grand Marshals of the Spirit Mountain Casino Grand Floral Parade. As two of Oregon’s prominent historical figures, the Grand Ladies will be riding in the middle of the parade with the “We are Oregon” section presented by the University of Oregon.
Highlights of the Grand Floral Parade includes four sections with special themes, as well as many festival favorites, like the Rose Festival Character Clown Corps and the World Famous Water Trampoline Budweiser Clydesdales. The newly crowned Queen of Rosaria and her princesses will be presented on a float sponsored by Unitus Community Credit Union.
Start your Saturday by attending the Queen’s Coronation presented by Unitus Community Credit Union at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 (time approximate), and see our newest Queen crowned!
View the colorful Bank of the West Grand Floral Walk as it comes through the Coliseum and down the streets, directly in front of the parade.
Don’t miss the biggest event of them all, the Spirit Mountain Casino Grand Floral Parade (10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 6). In keeping with the theme of Women in Leadership, the Rose Festival recognizes Chief Operating Officer and Director of Events & Communications Marilyn Clint, who is celebrating 40 years on the Rose Festival staff. On behalf of the City of Portland, the mayor has officially declared June 6, 2015 as Parade Queen Day in Marilyn’s honor!
Grand Floral Parade sections for 2015 include Live Fearless presented by Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon, We Are Oregon presented by University of Oregon, La Petite Parade presented by All Classical Portland and Window on the World presented by The Boeing Company. Highlights include these specially themed sections and loads of excitement, with Rose Festival mascot the Clown Prince and the Character Clown Corps presented by Union Pacific, the World Famous Budweiser Clydesdales the newly crowned Queen of Rosaria and her court of princesses, plus the brand new MINI-FLOATS, featuring entries from communities in both Oregon and Washington!
