Join Us on Monday Morning for an Eclipse Experience!

Be sure to come down to Governor Tom McCall Waterfront Park on Monday, August 21 (from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.), to share in an Eclipse Experience with dozens of people equally excited to join in this once-in-a-lifetime moment! Take a morning coffee break and enjoy this celestial event in good company.

The ‘Great American Eclipse’ is the first TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE in 38 years (the next one doesn’t happen until 2024). So don’t miss the chance to make your viewing experience special. (Portland is in the Top 25 large cities that will have the ‘best view’ in the entire nation.)

Meet Professor E. Clipse, the 2017 Grand Marshal of the Junior Parade! He’s an “Expert of Planetary and Outer Space Stuff” — wants to remind parents and kids to plan to keep their EYES SAFE during the eclipse event!

All Classical Portland will be on site to share their unique ‘Eclipse Soundtrack,’ crafted specially for this occasion (or listen in at 89.9 FM or allclassical.org). This eclipse on-air programming will be taking place from 8:00 a.m. to noon on August 21. YOU can hear it projected LIVE during the Rose Festival’s eclipse event!

YES! We Have Eclipse Glasses!!!

The Rose Festival office (located in downtown Portland at 1020 SW Naito Parkway) will RESUME sales of our specially made ISO certified viewing glasses at 8:00 a.m. on Monday morning (August 21) — these glasses also make nice souvenirs of the event!

Eclipse glasses and cups of coffee will be sold for $1 each. [We reserve the right to LIMIT quantities of glasses purchases.]
