Join the 2009 Rose Festival Video Team!
Is video your 'thing' -- or would you like it to be?
Here's your chance to join the NEW Rose Festival Video Team!
We're looking for volunteers who include students and amateur film makers to help capture the festival in motion.
We want this team to make videos up to three minutes long, that display various aspects of the 2009 Portland Rose Festival.
We'll be looking for videos that can be used at our official website, our YouTube site and at other cyber venues. We want the vision of average citizens interested in sharing their own positive point of view about Portland's biggest party!
Our long-term goal is to find new and inspirational ways to both share and promote the festival.
As a volunteer, a team member won't receive payment for the end product, but does get behind the scenes access to the Rose Festival. This also means team members will get cyber exposure of their work -- and their names.
To qualify for this first-time festival video team each candidate MUST:
- Have access to video shooting and editing equipment.
- Be at least 14 years old. (Under 18 must have permission from parent or guardian.)
- Provide their own transportation to events.
- Assume responsibility for project expenses.
- Submit a general outline of each video project concept to the festival prior to shooting.
- Receive pre-approval for event access (for tracking purposes).
- Have a YouTube site where samples can be uploaded for viewing by Rose Festival officials overseeing the PRFF Video Team.
- Be prepared to submit work in an edited and complete format.
- Submit work that ranges from 30 seconds to three minutes in length.
Video submissions:
- Can be shot in any format.
- Must be submitted to Rose Festival officials for evaluation.
- Must include a majority of Rose Festival images.
- Must not be offensive as determined by Rose Festival officials.
- Must meet the Rose Festival's 'family-friendly' standards.
We encourage you to check out our Calendar of Events for video ideas. There are numerous events -- and Sanctioned Events -- that take place each year.
We're anxious to have coverage for all our major events, providing Rose Festival Video Team members with special credentials and assignments!
