What is Your Favorite Place to Visit in Portland and Why?

"My favorite place to visit in Portland is the Hoyt Arboretum. During my kindergarten year we had a year long unit on trees and we went to the Arboretum at least once a week. This unit involved each student choosing and ̈adopting ̈ their own tree within the Arboretum. We learned all about ̈our ̈ tree and even made gifts to leave for it (bird feeders, special ornaments for each season/holiday). I sometimes still go there and hike to look for ̈my tree ̈. It is truly a magical spot for me.

What Are You Most Proud of During Your High School Career?

"Unified Sports are a division of Special Olympics which pairs students with disabilities on teams with students that do not have them. CHS has had a Unified basketball team for many years and last year many students with disabilities expressed interest in cheer so I helped to form a Unified cheer squad. Last year we had four members and this year we are up to six. I hope to continue to grow this program next year and have it continue after I graduate."

What is Your Favorite Rose Festival Event and Why?

"My favorite Rose Festival event is the Starlight Parade. For the last two years I have had the honor of marching in the parade as a member the CHS cheer team along with the CHS band. We have placed in the top three bands for our division for both years."
