The Portland Rose Festival Foundation (PRFF) makes Portland a better place to live and visit, and intends to contribute to organizations and/or individuals who do the same. Organizations and individuals whose project(s) meet the eligibility requirements and criteria outlined here may apply for support. The PRFF Development Committee will review all funding requests on an as needed basis, and will notify applicants of their status within 90 days of receipt of request. Typical grant awards will be $500, however we will consider requests for higher amounts, as warranted. All funding recipients must be prepared to complete and submit a Use of Funds Report within 3 months following the stated completion date of the project.
Funding Criteria
Criteria for funding is based on the mission and values of the PRFF. Requests should address one or more of the following:
- Service to the applicant's community
- Promotion of the arts
- Support education
- Promotion of volunteerism
- Support environmental responsibility
- Support cultural diversity
- Support patriotism
- Promote the history of Portland and/or the Portland Rose Festival
- Promote the cultivation of the rose
Eligibility
Support will primarily be provided to organizations that have established their tax-exempt status under section 501(C)(3) or 501(C)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code, or be tax exempt as a publicly funded entity, however individuals may apply for consideration as well. The geographic area eligible for consideration includes the states of Oregon and Washington. Requests from the same organization or individual may only be considered once each Rose Festival season.
Instructions
Applicants must submit:
- A complete PRFF Grant Request Application Form
- A project budget, including an outline of funding expected from sources other than PRFF
- A current IRS Determination Letter (for 501C3 and 501C4 organizations).

at least 45 days in advance of your need for support.
Due to budget limitations and our rolling grant deadline, available grant funding may be expended at any time throughout the year, and at that time the application process will close until the following budget year.
