Rose Festival Events Continue Throughout Summer!

A warm and rosy season is upon us, as the Portland Rose Festival continues with encore events through August, 2015. This summer celebrate cultural diversity, with multicultural music and food, hunt for buried treasure on the beach with mischievous pirates, create something new when you reuse, catch the beat of a drum competition, put the pedal to the medal at Malibu Raceway, and then swing into action at a top-notch golf tournament to help keep Portland’s Official Festival fantastic in 2016!

Rose Festival Summertime Events Schedule:

Good in the Hood Multicultural Food & Music Festival (Friday, June 26 – Sunday, June 28) kicks off summertime family-friendly festivities at Lillis Albina Park, featuring live music, a parade, an information Village, Market place, beer and wine garden and a youth venue, along with a kids space.

The 5th Annual Rockaway Beach Pirate Festival (Friday, June 26 – Sunday, June 28) at downtown Rockaway Beach, will feature a treasure hunt, live music and performances, festival rides, games, vendors and roving pirates, with tricks up their sleeves.

The 10th Annual Recycled Arts Festival (Saturday, June 27 – Sunday, June 28) Clark County Department of Environmental Services teaches about waste reduction and environmental issues in a fun way: Through artwork. Enjoy live music, roaming entertainment and recycled art, at Esther Short Park. Visitors are encouraged to bring their plastic grocery bags to recycle.

Drums of Fire – Drum and Bugle Competition (Thursday, July 2) will feature seven drum corps from the western United States, with more than 700 youth participating. The event will be at McMinnville High School’s Wortman Stadium at 3:00 p.m. Proceeds from the event go to participating 501(c)(3) Non-profit youth performing arts organizations, including Oregon Crusaders.

Race for the Roses at Malibu Raceway (Saturday, August 1) tests your racing skills in four minute laps of wheel-to-wheel racing, at the Mt. Hood Adventure Park at Skibowl. A portion of the entry fees will go toward to the Mt. Hood Ski Education Foundation (MHSEF).
