2026 Fred Meyer Junior Parade Community Entries

The Rose Festival and the Fred Meyer Junior Parade are quickly approaching and we would love for you to join in on the fun! This year's Rose Festival theme is "Imagine Magic". This year's Fred Meyer Junior Parade has moved to Saturday, May 30, 2026 in the Hollywood District of Portland starting at Noon!

The Fred Meyer Junior Parade is the nation’s OLDEST and LARGEST children's parade! We are excited to celebrate the community as children and their adult chaperones gather to march in the spirit of fun and celebration. Come share the joy: bring your family, friends, team or class. You can build a float, dress up, or ride your bike! Be creative!

If your group would like to participate this year, please fill out this form below by Friday, May 1st for inclusion in the parade script. (Entry applications received after May 1st will still be considered for entry, but may not be included in the parade script.)

Brief TV Script:

The parade is open to children through middle school age and their chaperones.
All entries must be appropriate for an audience of small children and are subject to Committee approval.
All entries must follow the instructions of parade officials.
All entries must keep up with the parade. No counter marching or stopping to perform routines -- they must be done while moving forward.
Nothing can be handed out or thrown from any parade participants due to safety concerns. Do not plan on passing out flyers, candy, etc. Such items may be confiscated by parade officials.
No advertising is permitted without Committee approval.
No entries allowed with religious, political, or social messaging.
No pets, horses or motor driven vehicles (other than official vehicles) are allowed.
All marchers must wear shoes.
