Getting to CityFair & Fleet Week

There are multiple options to access CityFair using TriMet!
The Red and Blue MAX lines have stations within a couple blocks of a CityFair entrance. Two entrances are located along SW Naito Parkway, one at SW Yamhill and another at SW Harvey Milk.

Coming from the west (i.e. Hillsboro, Beaverton, Cedar Hills, Southwest Hills, Downtown) depart at either the Yamhill District MAX Station (stop ID #8336) or the Oak/SW 1st MAX Station (stop ID #8337).

Coming from the east (i.e. Troutdale, Gresham, Parkrose, NE and SE neighborhoods, Old Town/Chinatown), depart at either the Oak/SW 1st MAX Station (stop ID #8380) or the Morrison/SW 3rd MAX Station (stop ID #8381).

Bus lines 6, 10, 14, and 15 also stop within two blocks of an entrance to CityFair.

For lines 6, 10, and 14, depart at SW Madison & 1st (eastbound, stop ID #3635) or SW Main & 2nd (westbound, stop ID #11956).

For line 15, depart at SW Washington & 3rd (westbound, stop ID #6158) or SW Alder & 2nd (eastbound, stop ID #14192).

Planning to visit the ships for Fleet Week? Ships will dock between the Morrison and Steel Bridges, extending a bit north of CityFair. All above directions will be the same for taking transit to Fleet Week, though you can also depart MAX at Skidmore Fountain or Old Town/Chinatown to access the ships on the waterfront.

Getting to Starlight & the Grand Floral Parades

The CareOregon Starlight Parade and Grand Floral Parade are located entirely in downtown Portland, following a route that intersects with the downtown transit mall.

The easiest, most accessible way to access the parade route is by TriMet MAX light rail or Portland Streetcar.

All four MAX lines (Blue, Red, Green, and Yellow/Orange) have stops on or near the parade route, and MAX continues to run during the road closures.

For the Blue and Red lines, all stops between SW Oak & 1st and Providence Park will put you within 2 blocks of the parade route.

For the Green and Yellow/Orange lines, depart at either Pioneer Courthouse/Pioneer Place or SW 5th & Oak/SW 6th & Pine to be within 2 blocks of the parade route on SW Broadway.

All Portland Streetcar lines also cross the parade route! Depart at SW 11th & Taylor or Central Library to view the parade on SW Taylor.

Though the parade stops for MAX trains, buses along the transit mall will be diverted. For information about all the lines affected and where their route will be diverted to, visit TriMet’s website and check your bus line for service alerts.

Getting to the Fred Meyer Junior Parade

The Fred Meyer Junior Parade has been held in the Hollywood neighborhood to the northeast since it began in 1918!

The Hollywood Transit Center is located near the end of the Junior Parade route and has stops for the Red, Blue, and Green MAX lines as well as bus lines 75 and 77. Departing from Hollywood TC, walk north 3 blocks up NE 42nd Ave (past the Trader Joe’s) to watch the parade on NE Sandy Blvd.

Bus line 12 goes down NE Sandy Blvd, the street that hosts the main section of the parade. Since NE Sandy Blvd will be closed for traffic during the parade, the 12 will be diverted outside of the parade route. For more details about this reroute, visit TriMet’s webpage for Line 12 service alerts here.

Bus line 71 stops near the parade formation area and the start of the route. Depart at NE 57th and Sandy and walk west on NE Sandy to get to the route.
