Float Decorating Volunteer Form

Portland Rose Festival has 2 different float decorating volunteer positions available this year! Our “Big Float” decorators help paint the base colors for each float, maintain the viability of the flowers, apply the matching organic materials which may include seeds, beans, rice, leaves, and live flowers, and much more!! "Big Float" Decorating volunteers are scheduled the week of May 30-June 5 in 4 hour shifts! Please note that the big float barn is at a NEW LOCATION this year!

The “Mini Float” decorator position is available this year as well! “Mini Float” volunteers work with the smaller floats on finer details! Volunteers will be doing detailed seed work, general prep work (filling vials of water for all the flowers), and texture work on the floats using items like coconut shavings! Mini Float Decorating volunteers are needed from May 11 - May 31 (excluding Sundays), from 1pm-5pm, and June 3 - June 5 from 9 a.m. - 8 p.m..

The shifts are flexible and simply a way for us to ensure we stay organized during this busy week. If you want to show up before or stay after your shift, please do!

All float decorators must be at least 14 years old. Individuals under 18 must be accompanied by an adult and complete a waiver signed by a parent or guardian.

If you're signing up for a group (3+), only one person needs to fill out this form. Groups more than 6 should contact ryani@rosefestival.org prior to filling out this form.
