It's Year Two for the Character Clown Corps!
The Rose Festival is now recruiting for its second class of Character Clowns, and
you might be a perfect candidate for this zany assignment!
After a triumphant debut in 2008, the Character Clown Corps is back for another
year of contributing their special blend of love and laughter to the Rose Festival
and the local community. Named one of the Best Educational Programs in the
World for festivals and events by the IFEA, the Clown Corps was one of the
favorite new Rose Festival features in 2008. Amtrak Cascades is proud to be sponsoring the Character Clown Corps in 2009.
Have you ever dreamed of escaping the predictability of the 'real world' to become a live-in-the-moment performer in order to express your creative side? Do you enjoy making people laugh? Then apply and audition for the 2009 Character Clown Corps presented by Amtrak Cascades, a chance for 'everyday citizens' to learn how to be professional entertainers and to participate in one of the world's best festivals. Participants will train and perform with an avant-garde clown professional Angel Ocasio, receive a makeup kit and costume, and develop their very own clown character.
It's the three-ringed Rose Festival, and it's close enough to home that participants can keep that day job while living out the age-old fantasy of running away to join the circus!
