It's Year Five For The Popular Character Clown Corps And YOU Can Be Part Of It!

It's the three-ringed Rose Festival, where participants keep their day jobs while living out the dream of running away to join the circus! After an award-winning debut in 2008 and successive successful seasons, the Character Clown Corps presented by Amtrak Cascades has become one of the Rose Festival's favorite features, contributing a special blend of love and laughter to the Spirit Mountain Casino Grand Floral Parade and many other festival events.
These ordinary-folks-turned-extraordinary-entertainers reflect both the historic traditions of clowning and the contemporary culture of the region. Named one of the Best Educational Programs in the World by the International Festivals & Events Association, the Clown Corps is led by one of the region's most talented professional clowns, Angel Ocasio (also known as the Rose Festival's Clown Prince).
The Character Clown Corps has brought together dozens of people aging from 14 to 74 years, haling from all around the region. 18 new clowns will join the ranks of the Corps in 2012, sure to embark on an exciting adventure of zany, fun-filled buffoonery at various Rose Festival events. Watch for them this spring, both on TV and in person!
