Regence Grand Floral Walk

Show your Rose Spirit by walking the route of the Grand Floral Parade! Join us on parade morning for the Regence Grand Floral Walk - a fun, fitness parade through the streets of downtown Portland. It's your time to shine amidst the floral festivities of Grand Floral Parade day! This is the perfect event for you and your co-workers, friends, neighbors, club pals and fitness friends to attend. There is no better way to get motivated than by walking in front of about 500,000 cheering people as you enjoy your workout. TV cameras will also be on during the morning's event, and groups of 25 or more enjoy a special discounted rates.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Online registration has been extended through NOON, Friday, June 11. Those who prefer NOT to pre-register are welcome to show up on the morning of the walk to register in person!

Support the Dougy Center

A portion of each registration will go to benefit The Dougy Center. The Dougy Center provides support in a safe place where children, teens, young adults and their families grieving a death can share their experiences.

Route

The four-mile walk route is also the route of the 2009 KeyBank Grand Floral Parade, leaving from the Memorial Coliseum. A marching band will lead you past nearly half a million spectators who will cheer you on as you enjoy your own 'fitness parade.' You can opt to do a two-mile portion of the course and exit and return to the formation area in northwest Portland. Please bring your own water bottle and other equipment to take you through a two or four-mile walking event. There will be no water stations available on course.

Parade Viewing

Once you have completed the course, you will have a chance to view the Grand Floral Parade at a special Walk viewing section near SW 12th and Taylor streets. Space will be available on a first come, first served basis ONLY for walkers identified with a participant bib number.

New This Year: Rose Spirit Cheer Challenge!

Show your 'Rose Spirit' by entering our Cheer Challenge! This fun contest is open to any group -- whether you're an established cheerleading team or just a very enthusiastic Rose Festival fan. Simply design and record an original cheer between 20 and 90 seconds in length and be sure to mention 'Rose Spirit.' Name your video, then complete the entry form and submit your video to our contest website by May 28. Finalists will be invited to participate FREE in the Regence Grand Floral Walk on Saturday June 12 -- and perform Walk morning, when the Grand Prize Winners will be announced!
