The Waterfront Village – Portland's Place to Play

Recently recognized by the International Festival & Events Association (IFEA) for having the 'Best Children's Programming' in the world, the Rose Festival's Waterfront Village is the region's premier family celebration. Celebrating 102 years as our City's signature event, the Portland Rose Festival brings international attention to Portland each June, and the Waterfront Village is the Rose Festival's largest community event.

For the first time ever, our village opens on Memorial Day weekend. This new three-weekend format offers a whole extra weekend of fun.

Nestled between Portland's bustling downtown business district and the scenic Willamette River covering the length of the Governor Tom McCall Waterfront Park, the Waterfront Village provides a park-load of whimsical kids adventures, hysterical vaudevillian acts, festive bands, and thousands of smiling families each day. This magical world of wonder also features a mysterious ancient temple, live exotic animals (including lions and tigers but no bears, oh no) and the region's best family-friendly carnival. So the Waterfront Village really is Portland's Place to Play for all who are young at heart. Come tour our ancient temple that is being transported from lands lost in time.

Funtastic Traveling Shows

Locally owned, Funtastic is one of the nation's finest carnivals presenting a full array of good, clean family fun including gentle Kiddie Land rides, tried and true family favorites, and over-the-top twisters for more adventurous thrill seekers.

For the first time in its 102-year history, the Portland Rose Festival kicks off our summer season by opening its Waterfront Village on Memorial Day weekend! This means triple the fun with three weekends of wild rides, foolish clowns, and magical entertainment.

Visit the BI-MART Kids Zone packed with family-friendly entertainment on the Family Fun Stage and interactive play in the BI-MART Toddler Zone.
