At 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 27, festival-lovers will be handed the Key to the City when newly christened CityFair opens its spectacular gate for the first time. Friday evening is free to the public — including a special concert by Portland favorite, Curtis Selgado, and one of the most amazing fireworks shows in the state, customized to depict this year’s Rose Festival theme, Carnival of Roses.
Talk about a heavy hitter! Despite a four-day delay in its cross-country trip to Portland (when it was sidelined at a weigh station in Cheyenne, Wyoming), the newest ride in Waterfront Park has, indeed, made it to town! Vertigo will be standing 100 feet tall, ready to ride, by the time the park opens — along with countless other fantastic amusement park features, courtesy of Funtastic Traveling Shows. Unlimited ride single-day wristbands are available for $25 at this website (or for $30 on site).
Popular soul performers Fitz & The Tantrums will perform on the RoZone stage Saturday night, while Sunday will feature a lineup of cool country led by headliner Justin Moore. A separate ticket for each of the RoZone Concert Series shows can be purchased via this website.
