Make Memories with the 2014 Rose Festival Official Products
The Portland Rose Festival announced new and renewed partnerships during their Art Unveiling event on Wednesday (April 23) at the Funtastic Traveling Shows Winter Headquarters, starting with the return of the popular Rose Festival OREGONLIVE Treasure Hunt. The Festival also unveiled their 2014 art, announced the renewal of an honored partnership with Spirit Mountain Casino and — for the first time ever — their official charitable cause: The Knight Cancer Challenge.
The 2014 Rose Festival souvenir poster celebrates the crowning of the 100th Queen of Rosaria, picturing a unique art nouveau super-princess! They will be available (while supplies last) at the Rose Garden Store in Washington Park, the Portland inflatable water parks Rose Festival Foundation office (at the Rose Building in downtown Portland) and during Rose Festival at CityFair (in Waterfront Park), plus various merchandise kiosks at select Rose Festival events, selling for $10. From 1983 to 2005, people enjoyed participating in — and speculating about — the annual Treasure Hunt. For 2014, this event is coming back as the Rose Festival OREGONLIVE Treasure Hunt — continuing the involvement of The Oregonian in a new and exciting way! Beginning May 26, clues will be released daily at OregonLive.com for a 14-day period, with the familiar medallion hidden somewhere within a five-county, public area. The winner of the contest will receive a $1,000 cash prize, plus other goodies to be announced later. (Click the image below to see a larger version of the medallion.)
Produced by Oak Knoll, the 2014 Rose Festival Collectors Series wines includes a Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and a Rose. Limited edition wines are available (while supplies last) at the Oak Knoll Winery, select Safeway stores and Made in Oregon stores. (Visit OakKnollWinery.com for more information.)
Are you more of a beer person? Stop by CityFair to try Rogue’s Rose Festival Ale. This refreshing beverage will be found at Tom McCall Waterfront Park in the Rogue CityFair Pub (located inside the Rose City Tent). The pub will be decked in Rogue’s signature decor — so you can enjoy the view with your brew.
Elmer’s Restaurant is serving up three mouthwatering official rose meals from April 28 through June 22 (at participating restaurants). Entrees include the fresh fruit waffle, strawberry blintz and strawberry-apple poppyseed salad. $1 of every rose meal purchase will be donated to the Portland Rose Festival Foundation! Enjoy a delicious meal, while supporting the Festival!
Rose Festival isn’t complete without our annual official rose! For the 2014 rose, head to Dennis’ 7 Dees to pick up the “Royal Scepter” while they’re still in supply. For each of these rose bushes purchased, $2 will be donated to the Portland Rose Festival Foundation. (We thank you for your support!)
