2020 Rose Festival Tradition Continues to Evolve

Festival Sets Date for 2020 Queen Announcement

The Portland Rose Festival is releasing its remaining calendar of events for 2020, and will finally be able to announce a Queen on Thursday, July 30. The Festival is also kicking off its popular Treasure Hunt Sunday, July 19, and the U.S. Navy Fleet will make a virtual stop in Portland for five days in July and August.

Rose Festival Treasure Hunt – Clues begin July 19

Hunter Alert: the Rose Festival Treasure Hunt is on! Portland’s ultimate social distancing event is finally set. The Rose Festival will release Clues daily (10:00 a.m.) starting Sunday, July 19, through August 1, 2020 at the Rose Festival website. The treasure to be found is a 2.5-inch by 3-inch block of Lucite, with a special Rose Festival medallion embedded in it.

Virtual Fleet Week – July 29 – August 2

Components include a virtual tour of the USS Portland, video of the christening of the new USS Oregon submarine, a virtual tour of a Royal Canadian Navy ship, and so much more. Exact dates & times TBA, see Fleet Week for more information.

2020 Rose Festival Queen Announcement – July 30

The Festival will announce who — out of the 15 princess representing Metro area schools — will be crowned. The announcement will be made on the Rose Festival’s social media channels.

Rose Festival Honors presented by Wells Fargo – August 11

The Rose Festival Foundation is pleased to honor Marcia Randall for her decades of supporting higher education for young women on the Rose Festival Court. Anyone is welcome to view this live streaming broadcast honoring the role of mentorship with the Rose Festival, and celebrating the power of Women Empowering Women, featuring keynote speaker Tracy Curtis, Region President of Wells Fargo, and Grace (Neal) Stratton, 2006 Rose Festival Queen.

Portland Rose Festival Foundation Dinner & Auction – October 16

The Rose Festival Foundation will raise mission-critical funds at its annual fundraising dinner and auction, featuring silent and live auction packages, and a chance to support the future of this treasured Portland tradition.
