Rojo the Llama is Announced as Grand Marshal for the Junior Parade
Eleven-year-old Rojo the llama is a big, furry ambassador with a special gift of making people smile. Rojo’s handler, Shannon Hendrickson, trained Rojo as a 4H Project Animal. In July 2007, Shannon and her mother, Lori Gregory, each took Rojo through the final evaluation to become the first two llama therapy teams ever certified by DoveLewis.
Rojo has made hundreds of visits to local children’s hospitals, senior communities, schools, various facilities for children and adults with disabilities — as well as appearing at special events, including participation in the Fred Meyer Junior Parade.
